Blake of Scotland Yard (1937)
Plot: The movie is a feature-length version edited down from a 15-chapter film serial. Sir James Blake, a distinguished, retired member of Scotland Yard, dedicates his time to helping his niece, Hope, and her friend, Jerry, with a powerful new apparatus they have invented—a "death ray" with the potential to prevent wars. The invention, which Blake intends to donate to the League of Nations, is stolen by a ruthless gang of criminals led by the mysterious mastermind known only as "The Scorpion." Sir James Blake and his associates must now work to recover the dangerous device and unmask the true identity of "The Scorpion."
