Plot: South Korea is plunged into a state of total panic when a series of skeletal corpses are found floating in rivers across the country. Scientists discover the cause is a mutated strain of parasitic horsehair worms that "brainwash" their human hosts, causing them to develop extreme hunger and then a fatal, uncontrollable thirst that forces them to drown themselves to release the parasite's larvae. Jae-hyuk, a struggling pharmaceutical salesman and former biochemist, realizes his own wife and children are infected. As the government struggles to contain the outbreak and a corporate conspiracy begins to emerge, Jae-hyuk must race against time to find the only known medicine capable of killing the parasite before his family becomes the next victims.
