Exposure (2023)
Plot: Tanner, a man who was kidnapped, tortured, and poisoned by an unknown assailant years ago, now lives in constant, debilitating fear that his attacker is still trying to get him. His compulsive behaviors—obsessively checking his house and confirming his food is safe—slowly begin to destroy his relationship with his supportive wife, Nicole. When Nicole learns his former captor has been released from prison, Tanner’s paranoia spirals out of control. To save her marriage, Nicole forces Tanner to confront his obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and his fears head-on with a form of therapy called Exposure Response Prevention (ERP). Tanner embraces the difficult therapy, but his efforts to face his fears become increasingly reckless, pushing him to a dangerous edge as he attempts to uncover a perceived conspiracy and, ultimately, face the dark truth about his trauma and his mental state.
