Freak (2022)
Plot: Ava, a washed-up writer struggling to recover from a harrowing and traumatic incident in Los Angeles, retreats to a remote family cabin in the woods of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Hoping the isolation will help her regain her sanity and jumpstart her career, she instead finds herself plagued by disturbing visions, vivid hallucinations, and dreams of a missing girl. As she descends further into a psychological breakdown, the arrival of her sister and whispers of a local serial killer blur the lines between her internal trauma and a very real, external threat. The film culminates in a chaotic confrontation with a monstrous figure in the cabin's basement, forcing Ava to face whether the nightmare is in her head or lurking in the shadows.
