Heroes of the Alamo (1937)
Plot: This low-budget historical adventure film focuses on the events leading up to and including the Battle of the Alamo during the Texas Revolution. Unlike other adaptations, the main protagonists are Almaron Dickinson and his wife, Susanna Dickinson, who were present at the Alamo. The plot covers the growing resentment of American settlers toward Mexican dictator General Santa Anna's oppression, the restriction of American emigration to Texas, the arrest of Stephen F. Austin, the formation of the Texian Army under Sam Houston, and Almaron Dickinson's participation in the Battle of Gonzales and the final siege of the Alamo.
