House by the Lake
Year: 2017
Plot: A struggling married couple, Scott and Karen Morgan, take their young, autistic daughter, Emma, to a remote, idyllic lake house in an attempt to repair their strained relationship. As family tensions escalate, Emma begins to fixate on an imaginary friend she calls "The Fish Man." Her parents and nanny dismiss it as a coping mechanism, but strange occurrences and Emma's changing behavior (including an ability to breathe underwater) make them question whether the mysterious figure is a product of her imagination or a terrifying entity from the lake that is waiting to take her.
