Lady Cocoa
Year: 1975
Plot: Alfonsa "Lady Cocoa" King (Lola Falana), a prisoner serving time for contempt of court, is granted a highly conditional 24-hour leave from the Nevada State Prison. This temporary freedom is in exchange for her agreement to testify before a grand jury against her former mobster boyfriend, Eddie, regarding his racketeering activities in the Nevada casino business. She is placed under the protection of two police officers at a Lake Tahoe hotel and casino. Cocoa, a sassy and demanding personality, uses her brief reprieve to enjoy a taste of luxury and freedom, making her bodyguards' lives difficult. However, two silent hitmen are tracking her every move, leading to a suspenseful confrontation and a dramatic fight for her survival as she tries to outwit the gangsters and the law. The film is considered a Blaxploitation crime drama.
