Moon of the Wolf 1972
Plot: In the small, insular Louisiana town of Marsh Island, a young woman is found brutally murdered, her body covered in bizarre scratch marks. Sheriff Aaron Whitaker begins an investigation, initially suspecting a pack of wild dogs or a human assailant. However, as more strange and violent incidents occur, and the victims display similar gruesome injuries, local superstitions about a "loup-garou" (werewolf) begin to spread. The sheriff's search leads him through a web of town secrets and troubled residents, including the victim's temperamental brother, a secretive town doctor, and the powerful Rodanthe family, whose patriarch is suffering from a mysterious illness. As the full moon approaches, the evidence increasingly points to a horrifying, supernatural truth, forcing the pragmatic Sheriff Whitaker to confront the impossible: a werewolf is loose in his community, and the ancient curse may be closer than he ever imagined.
