Sitting on the Moon
Year: 1936
Plot: Danny West and Mike Rooney are a successful songwriting and lyricist team working in the showbiz industry. Danny falls for Polly Blair, a once-famous film star whose career is fading, and her friend, Mattie. In an effort to help Polly, Danny writes a new song for her, and she gains new fame as a radio singer. However, their burgeoning romance and professional success are disrupted when a scheming blackmailer, Blossom Dawn (who claims to have married Danny during a drunken night), arrives to expose secrets and demand a large payoff, threatening to ruin Danny's reputation and Polly's career. The misunderstandings and drama are eventually resolved, leading to a musical finale.
