Social worker Li Shu-fen is searching for her missing pregnant daughter, Li Ya-ting. Her quest leads her into a series of terrifying mysteries, including encountering a mysterious woman who keeps her own daughter locked in a room covered in spell-laden paper, and a missing pregnant woman found in the mountains. As Shu-fen delves deeper, she realizes these strange occurrences are connected to the urban legend of "the girl in red," a malevolent spirit who lures people into the forest. The film explores themes of motherhood, fear, and the supernatural, as the characters confront their past demons and fight for survival against the girl in red and other entities in a haunted mountain.
