The Beast 2019 (Korean: 비스트; RR: Biseuteu) is a South Korean action thriller film, a remake of the French film "36 Quai des Orfèvres" (2004).
Plot: The film follows two rival detectives, Jung Han-su and Han Min-tae, in Seoul's homicide division. They find themselves competing to solve the brutal murder of a schoolgirl whose body is found dismembered. Han-su, a maverick who isn't afraid to bend rules, quickly apprehends a suspect. However, Min-tae, a more by-the-book detective, raises suspicions, complicating the case. As their rivalry escalates, Han-su meets an informant from his past who claims to know the real culprit, leading him into a dangerous secret deal and forcing him to make morally compromising choices that blur the lines between justice and corruption, ultimately threatening to destroy his career and life.
