The Gay Ranchero (1948)
Plot: The criminal Vance Brados is determined to take control of a profitable local business that operates both a spa and a small airline called Mazanita Springs. To achieve this, Brados hires a mechanic to sabotage the planes, causing them to crash so his gang can murder the pilots and steal gold shipments being flown by the airline. Sheriff Roy Rogers steps in to investigate and put a stop to the wave of sabotage and murder. Aided by Nicci Lopez, Roy devises a trap using one final gold shipment to catch Brados and his gang, but the plan is jeopardized when the villain becomes suspicious. The film is a musical Western featuring performances by Roy Rogers and other members of the cast.
