Plot: Set in 1547, a Portuguese mercenary named Fernando De Gama sails to the Kingdom of Siam (now Thailand) to seek fortune and find the man who killed his father. After surviving a shipwreck and being sold into slavery, he eventually earns his freedom and becomes a personal bodyguard to the King of Siam. He soon finds himself entangled in a dangerous web of court intrigue, assassination plots, and the treacherous ambitions of a queen determined to put her own lover on the throne.
