The Monster Maker (1944)
Plot: Dr. Igor Markoff, a mad scientist obsessed with his deceased wife, becomes infatuated with Patricia Lawrence (Wanda McKay) due to her uncanny resemblance to his late spouse. When Patricia's father, renowned concert pianist Anthony Lawrence (Ralph Morgan), confronts the doctor to demand he stop harassing his daughter, Markoff injects him with a serum that causes a rapid, aggressive form of acromegaly, a disease that horribly distorts the victim's features. Markoff, a specialist in the disorder, holds the antidote for ransom, demanding Patricia's hand in marriage in exchange for curing her father and stopping his grotesque transformation. The desperate pianist is forced to become a hermit to hide his monstrous appearance while his daughter and her boyfriend race against time to save him from the clutches of the mad doctor.
