The Pride of Jesse Hallam 1981
Plot: The film follows an illiterate coal miner from Kentucky who moves to Cincinnati so his daughter can receive a life-saving spinal surgery. Determined to support his family in the city, he decides to learn to read and write as an adult and resolves to graduate from high school.
