Wallaby Jim of the Islands
Year: 1937
Plot: Wallaby Jim, the handsome, singing captain of the brig Kestrel, is a well-known pearl trader in the South Pacific. Jim and his crew discover a valuable new source of pearls, but their ability to claim it is jeopardized when Jim's partner, Norman Brooks, gambles away most of their money. Adolph Richter, an unscrupulous Dutch rival trader, learns of their financial predicament and the valuable pearl bed, and attempts to exploit the situation and violently jump Jim's claim, leading to action, excitement, and a final showdown. The film also features a romance between Jim and Norman's fiancée, Allison.
