Aleksandr Bogolyubov is a Soviet film and animation director. Director of a number of feature films, popular science films, and puppet films. In 1962, he graduated from the directing department of the Kiev State Institute of Theatre Arts named after I. Karpenko-Karyy (workshop of Leonid Varpakhovskiy). In 1957-1965 Bogolyubov was an assistant director at the A. Dovzhenko Film Studio, in 1965-1968 he was the second director at the Odessa Film Studio, in 1968-1971 he was a director of popular science films at the Kievnauchfilm studio, in 1971-1978 he was a director of animated films at the Multtelefilm studio of the Ekran Production Association, and then at Mosfilm. From 1978 until the studio's closure, he was the director of the feature film studio of the creative association Ekran.
