João Botelho was born on May 11, 1949 in Lamego, Portugal. He is a director and writer, known for Os Maias: Cenas da Vida Romântica (2014), Quem És Tu? (2001) and A Corte do Norte (2008). He has been married to Leonor Pinhão since 1978. They have three children.
