Carla was born in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, then grew up in Port Coquitlam, B.C., and later Langley, B.C., with her 2 sisters and 1 brother.

After high school, she became an international model doing print, catalogs, and commercials for 10 years then, at age 26, decided she was tired of traveling overseas, so she decided to try acting.

She took acting classes, and then on her first audition landed a role on the TV series Poltergeist - Die unheimliche Macht (1996) as "Isabella". She then proceeded to land roles in various TV shows, like Outer Limits: Die unbekannte Dimension (1995), Millennium: Fürchte deinen Nächsten wie dich selbst (1996), Stargate: Kommando SG-1 (1997) and The Chris Isaak Show (2001) and then movies like Zickenterror - Der Teufel ist eine Frau (2001) in 2001, then, eventually moved to New York.

On Sci-Fi's Stargate: Kommando SG-1 (1997), she guest-starred as the original "Oma Desala" in the episode, Maternal Instinct (2000), who later became a pivotal character, played by Mel Harris, in the series.

She is a mother of 2, and her talents and hobbies include guitar, singing, cooking, baking, sewing, painting, drawing, and crafts.
