Born in East London, of Spanish parents, Luie has spent most of his
adult life in England. A well established cabaret singer, comedian and
entertainer with a wealth of experience in stage and television he
started at the tender age of 14 when he appeared in the Flowerdrum
Song, in later years appearing in the Gingerbready Lady with Elaine
Stritch. He then went on to appear in Hair at the Shaftesbury Theatre
and on tour. Luie has appeared in many stage shows,films and television
(mostly commercials).
A New Faces winner during 1975 with his impressionist comedy act, he
followed this with appearances in various pubs, clubs and cabaret rooms
around the country. Luie has appeared with The Batchelors, Frank
Ifield, David Essex and Charles Aznavour to mention just a few.
During this period he also appeared in several commercials; Heinz
Ketchup, Gaviscon, Whitbread Best Bitter and many more.
Luie now primarily performs as a singer at private functions with his
cabaret act, which includes his tribute to Frank Sinatra and comedy
performances from Norman Wisdom.
