Born and raised in Texas to a large Southern family. An over-achiever
as a teen-ager, Phyllis was state president of the Future Homemakers of
Americas. Was secretary for National Honor Society, JC Penney
team-board vice-president. Attended University of Texas in Austin and
Columbia University in NYC.
