Son Dinh was born in Vietnam. His father was a builder/real estate
developer in Saigon, his mother was a homemaker. Together they raised
11 children. Son proved very intelligent at a young age. At 16 he
started college. Then he went to McGill University in Canada for
graduate study of International Aviation laws. After graduation, he
returned to Vietnam to work for Tan Son Nhut airport as Chief Inspector
then for Esso in the International Law department. After the fall of
South Vietnam in 1975, his specialty in law was no longer needed, so he
returned to his first love of classical music. He gave private piano
lessons to make a living, until he could migrate his whole family to
the United States in late 1982. He and his family settled in
Gainesville, Florida, where he still resides. In 1992, he responded to
a casting call and was casted as Camp commander in the made for TV
movie Bobby Garwood. Now in retirement, he is busy giving recitals
playing violin at churches and retirement homes in and around
Gainesville.
