Marcia grew up in the woods of Muskoka and at the age of 16 moved to
Toronto to attend Claude Watson School of the Arts. During her time at
school she began to audition and land gigs as a professional singer and
dancer. Even before graduating she had toured overseas entertaining
Canadian and USO troupes stationed in Europe and the Middle East. She
spent time on the SunViking cruise ship bringing the sounds of Broadway
and old Paris to the Caribbean Seas.
After completing her high school studies she moved to the New York City
where she spend a summer studying at Circle in the Square, then 2½
glorious years with the famed actor's coach, William Esper of Rutgers
University. She played the mischievous Misty Marlow on Another World (1964), sang
back up for Shania Twain and performed comedy skits on Late Nite with
Conan O'Brien.
She has acted in over 2 dozen films, winning several film festival
awards as well as landing a role in the Keanu Reeves' movie Helden aus der zweiten Reihe (2000).
After her performance she was approached by Keanu's manager and joined
3 Arts Entertainment, one of the largest and most respected management
companies in Hollywood.
Marcia continued to write and perform music as a solo artist. In the
spring of 2000, she met guitarist Monte Pittman in Los Angeles. They
formed the band, Into the Unknowing, and noting his enormous talent as
a guitar player, she began to manage his career. Within 6 months (and
lots of work) Monte became Madonna's lead guitarist. Marcia launched
her own artist management company, Monster Management, and went on The
Drowned World Tour with the greatest rock diva of all time... much was
learned!
When time permits, she is working on a documentary, 'Girrrls Who Rock',
honouring the lives of great women across the globe that she will make
into a pilot, scheduled for next fall.
Marcia has been writing songs and performing since a very young age.
The people she has met and experiences she has had inspire and help her
in the creation of her artistic journey. Now the time feels right to
make her recording debut and take the show on the road... she will open
for newcomer Willpilot this summer and support his band on keys, guitar
and vocals with her band, Voxbox.
