Dionne was a Rock 'n' Roll photographer during the late '70s and during
the '80s. She shot U2 on their very first USA tour. She later went on
to be a successful photographer, among her credits the US Festival,
David Bowie, Rod Stewart, The Stray Cats, J. Geils Band and the L.A.
Punk scene. Dionne also Art Directed the video to Suicidal Tendencies'
"Institutionalized", one of the most popular videos during the punk
era.
While doing rock photography at clubs at night, working at CAA during
the day and managing several bands, she was diagnosed with Lupus in
1992. Dionne was bedridden for several years, and it was here she
entered the movie business. She worked as a second A.C. at first and
quickly moved up, eventually becoming First Key A.C. on the Billy Zane
show, "I Woke Up Early the Day I Died", which shot in 1997. She left
the business in 2000 to become an Architectural photographer, and her
dream was to have her own Stock Photography business.
She was struck by a car while on a movie lot in 2000, and slowly
deteriorated, due to lupus (for which she was in remission) and was
hospitalized on July, Friday the 13th 2001. She died from an aneurysm,
on 1 February 2005.
Everyone who ever worked with her remembers her great skill, quick wit,
dedication to her work and her amazing spirit. She made everybody feel
special, and even when she was suffering greatly from the disorders
that assailed her.
She was a very talented, vivacious, intelligent, talented and special
person.
