A graduate of the Chicago municipal public school system, Ronald L.
Fair served as a hospital corpsman in the U.S. Navy and worked as a
court reporter before publishing his first novel "Many Thousands Gone:
An American Fable" in 1965. Primarily writing for children and young
adults, Fair is the author of six novels and several short
stories.
