Faidon Georgitsis studied at the Drama Schools of Karolos Koun, Hristos Vahliotis and Pellos Katselis. His screen debut was in Jules Dassin's Sonntags... nie! (1960) (followed next by their collaborations in Phaedra (1962) and Traum einer Leidenschaft (1978) too), as well as other memorable films of great directors such as Vasilis Georgiadis' Die roten Laternen (1963) and Blutendes Land (1965) (as well as a cameo in Gamos ala... ellinika (1964) too), Takis Kanellopoulos' Ouranos (1962) and Michael Cacoyannis' Der letzte Frühling (1960). Among others, he had collaborated with Karolos Koun in his Art Theater and the National Theatre of Northern Greece. Besides his acting work, he had also directed films and several stage plays.
