Was born in Ontario, California, and attended Upland High School.
Parents divorced when she was 15. Was two-time California state
champion in the high jump in her sophomore and junior year. In her
senior year, after breaking her own state record at a qualifying meet
she was sidelined one week before her final state championships with
appendicitis.
World-class high jumper whose best ranking was 2nd in the nation and
10th in the world. She also competed for the United States, UCLA and
World Class Track Club under the coaching of Bobby Kersee. Former
Olympian. Was cast as high jumper Penny Brill in
_Robert Towne_'s film
Personal Best (1982), which began
her career in the entertainment industry. This was all under her maiden
name, Kari Gosswiller. Has a B.A. in Classical Civilization from UCLA,
1987. Married _Peter Peyton_. Has two
daughters, Taylor Peyton and Nichols Peyton. Divorced in 1987.
Was sponsored by and modeled for Nike. Began her casting career casting
athletes for Nike, then branched out into all aspects of casting.

world-class runners to be exact photo doubles in order to cut back and
forth from the original 1972 Olympic race footage in which Steve
Prefontaine placed 4th.
