Yuri Grigorovich was born on January 1, 1927 in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR [now St. Petersburg, Russia]. He was a writer and director, known for Iwan Grosny (1976), Spartakus - The Bolshoi Ballet (1977) and Bolshoi Ballet in Cinema: Spartacus (2021). He was married to Natalia Bessmertnova. He died on May 19, 2025 in Moscow, Russia.
