Francisco X. Rivera (aka Panchisco) holds a B.A. in Cinematography from the CUEC (University Center of Cinematographic Studies) at UNAM, where he graduated in 2006. Since 2000, he has worked professionally as an audiovisual editor in film, series, advertising, music videos, and television, with experience spanning commercial, independent, cultural, academic, governmental, and artistic projects. His filmography as an editor includes 22 fiction feature films, 5 documentary features, 30 short films, 9 series, and over 100 commercials, as well as trailers, music videos, and online content. His work has been recognized with the Diosa de Plata Award for Best Editing for Espiral (2010) and two subsequent nominations for Colosio: El Asesinato (2012) and Ella es Ramona (2016). He received the Ariel Award for Best Editing for La 4ª Compañía (2017) and earned another Ariel nomination for the documentary Batallas Íntimas (2018). At the Pantalla de Cristal Awards, he was nominated for La Negrada (2019) and won Best Editing for Celeste Soledad (2023). In parallel, he has also worked as a postproduction supervisor and assistant director. Since 2008, he has developed a career as an educator in editing, montage, and postproduction at various universities in Mexico and Latin America. Since 2015, he has served as Adjunct Professor and Academic Technician at ENAC (National School of Cinematic Arts, UNAM), where he teaches and advises undergraduate students in cinematography on editing and postproduction. He was a member of the Technical Council (2019-2023) and participated in the PAPIIT Virtual Production Studio research project "Virtual Reality, Cinema, and Education" (2021-2024). He was also the founding president (2021-2023) of AMEE (Mexican Association of Film Editors), where he remains an active member. Since 2018, he has been part of the General Assembly of AMACC (Mexican Academy of Film Arts and Sciences), where he currently serves on the Artificial Intelligence Commission. He is also editing the documentary Tony Foster: Painting at the Edge.
