Nelson Ferreira is a professional painter specialised on 15th century Primitive Flemish methodologies of Painting, as well as 19th century Academic drawing and painting techniques.
In the United Kingdom, he is a visiting lecturer for the National Portrait Gallery, Saatchi Gallery, Victoria & Albert Museum, Chiswick Business Park (Paramount Pictures, Discovery Channel etc), Regent Street Crown Estates, Bank of America, Grosvenor Estates, amongst others.
In Portugal, he taught at The National Museum of Contemporary Art MNAC, National Museum of Ancient Art of Lisbon MNAA, the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon, and many other museums and fine arts universities.
He also teaches drawing and painting to Walt Disney artists (teams based in the USA, Canada and UK) through their studio Industrial Light & Magic (ILM).
His artworks are collected worldwide, with a special focus in Britain, Japan and the Middle East. He has been producing bespoke artworks, having being chosen by 'British Interior Designer of the Decade' Katharine Pooley. He became the first associate artist in the history of Portugal's National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC).
In 2022 he co-created the short film "Azul no Azul" together with film director Gianmarco Donaggio.
