Ly Minh Ba, a young filmmaker born and raised in Saigon, Vietnam. Ba studied Film Production at Hoa Sen University; Film Directing at Ho Chi Minh City University of Theatre and Cinema; and completed a short-term training course at the Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA).
In the summer when he was 17, Ba made his first short film during high school. After screening the film in class, he went home with a very special feeling and knew that cinema would be the path he would pursue.
Since then, Ba began experimenting with various short films with his friends. Gradually, he grew more confident in himself after completing two narrative shorts: "Humming Wood" (2022) and "Glorious Nightfall" (2024; Top 5 Best Performance at CJ Short Film Projects 2023, SeaShorts Film Festival 2024, Jogja-NETPAC Asian Film Festival 2024, Nowness Asia...). At the end of 2025, Ba plans to shoot his newest short film "A Night of Foggy Skies", marking an important stepping stone toward his debut feature film.
