Ty Edwards was born in Olympia, Washington. Edwards was raised in the
communities of Lake Lawrence (Yelm) and Boston Harbor (Olympia); both
in rural Thurston County, Washington. Edwards attended the University
of Washington where he graduated in 2002. He has worked on educational
television series in Los Angeles and Seattle for PBS, Disney, National
Geographic, ABC, Discovery, and NBC, including the Emmy Award-winning
"Bill Nye the Science Guy." In 1998, 1999, & 2000, Edwards was
recognized by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Emmy
Award-winning (1998 & 1999), and Emmy Award-nominated (2000),
contributions in Single Camera Editing on "Bill Nye the Science Guy."
In 1999 and 2000 the series won the Emmy Award for Outstanding
Children's Series.
