Armed with determination and a little experience in professional
acting, Rodriguez followed the shifting of her creativity into writing
and directing and in February 2000, produced and directed her first two
short films, Soul Collectors and Floater.
Displaying a "wide range of style", she attracted the attention of
several film festivals which opened a few doors and led to an option
deal for both films. Since then she has continued writing short and
feature length screenplays and directing as often as possible.
To she has written, produced and directed a collection of short films:
Soul Collectors (35mm); Floater (35mm); Blind Mice (35mm); Manner of
Living (HD); Quietness of Copper (HD); Gettin Honeys (HD); Flung (HD).
She has also completed one feature film Coming Up Easy (24p DV), which
won the Best Feature Award at the Reel Women International Film
Festival in Los Angeles, 2005 as well as the Best Feature by a
Northwest Filmmaker Award from the Far From Hollywood Society in
Portland, Oregon.
She has directed music videos for rappers, "Kant B Caught" and "Mike
Bars" out of Portland, OR and "Gutta and Mellikon" out of Atlanta, GA.
She has tackled a few commercial projects for companies like Hewlett
Packard, Artscape and Spirit Mountain Casino.
She continues her work on various film and writing projects and on
making the world a better place for animals.
