Chad was raised on the outskirts of Denver, Colorado before attending the film program at the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2000. In 2003, he moved to Los Angeles, CA, and started his career as an assistant at the 20th Century Fox Studio Lot. He has since worked as department head / VFX supervisor on such acclaimed television shows as Gaslit (2022), Mr. Robot (2015) and Homecoming (2018). He has also worked as a vendor side VFX supervisor for Null Layer, Inc. on the films Der Killer (2023), Road House (2024), and Creed III: Rocky's Legacy (2023). Other credits include working as a visual effects artist on the films Gone Girl - Das perfekte Opfer (2014) and Birdman oder (Die unverhoffte Macht der Ahnungslosigkeit) (2014). He is a member of the Directors Guild of America as a director, having most recently directed the 2nd unit for Gaslit (2022).
