As a filmmaker who has been living in Mongolia for the past 2 years, I have been interested in documentary filmmaking and human stories. After working as an assistant director in the industry for a couple of years, I have hitchhiked my way in Asia for a couple of years and been moved by the humans that I have come by and their stories. And these stories needed to be told. So as a filmmaker, I decided to use my skills to tell unique and untold stories of humankind.
My feature film scripts have received support and won some awards in Turkey. I have attended Yapim Lab, a prestigious program for filmmakers in Turkey run by the Palme D'or winning producer Zeynep Özbatur Atakan. I have been a board member of the Short Film Directors Association in Turkey since 2020. In March 2022, I directed my first short film "22" online. This film was released at many national and international festivals. Since my relocation to Mongolia, I have been working on a shamanism documentary and making research with the shamans I have met here. The project deserved to receive 12,000 EUR production support from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Culture. During this period, I met with more than 40 shamans and I lived with them in exchange for teaching their children in English and witnessed their experiences.
