Gillian Anderson was born in Calgary, Alberta, and raised in Medicine Hat. She first stepped into performing as a child, appearing in community theatre productions and a few local television commercials.
Over the years, Gillian built a diverse resume as a background performer in numerous mainstream television and film productions, gaining valuable on-set experience and observing the craft from the inside out. Her breakthrough came with her first speaking role in an independent short film directed by award-winning filmmaker Adrian dela Peña. Shortly after, she appeared as a news reporter in the horror/comedy Swift Nightmares 2, further showcasing her range and adaptability.
Earlier this year, Gillian landed her first lead role, playing Michelle in the short film Blackbird, a performance that allowed her to explore complex emotional storytelling.
Dedicated to continually honing her skills, Gillian actively participates in acting classes and industry workshops, further developing her range and versatility as a performer. Her commitment to growth, paired with her evolving on-screen experience, continues to fuel her artistic journey.
