KATHY A. GREGGS
Kathy Greggs was born in Camden, New Jersey. She grew up in Germany. Her mother and father retired and served in the United States Army, which is where she followed their traditions. As a combat veteran of the US Army and a victim of sexual assault in the armed forces, Kathy Greggs has dedicated her life to promoting changes in the policies and practices of the US Army. She is a trained FEMA Disaster Operations Manager, a volunteered at the Phoenix Center for Rape Crisis and Connections of Cumberland, and a Co-advocate for Pathway to Prosperity housing. In addition, Greggs is one of the Co-founders of the nonprofit Fayetteville Police Accountability Community Taskforce, which aims to reform state and federal laws, policies, and regulations of the criminal justice system. Greggs fought for rental assistance for people facing eviction during the corona virus pandemic, winning $15 million for the state and lowering the quantity of mass evictions in Cumberland County. Her scholarly achievements, honors, and enthusiastic participation in learning endeavors serve as additional evidence of her dedication to community service. Greggs also produced. A documentary "Fayetteville PACT American Rescue Plan Funds," to show how funds could be used in the disenfranchised communities. Greggs recently made a short film" Justice will Prevail: Envisioning AI's Impact on Humanity" to show the rise of Artificial Intelligence and how it will affect humanity everyday living. Furthermore, she has participated with several civil rights and liberty groups, including the National Domestic Violence Rally, Fayetteville PRIDE, NewLife2nd Chances, the ACLU of North Carolina, Sheriff Trusting Communities, and the NC Pro-Choice board. Greggs also held the position of Vice President of Policy for the NC National Women of Organization. She works as a human rights consultant and a global ambassador. She still belongs to the following groups: NC National Organization for Women, Wounded Warrior Project Alumni, Veteran of Foreign War Affairs, Eta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., US Army Adjutant General's Corp Regimental Association of Iron Mike Chapter, AFGE 1770 Union, and Human Resource Professionals. Greggs is a PhD candidate in Theology and a graduate of Columbia Southern University with a Master of Business in Human Resource Management. She is a recipient of Juneteenth Freedom Pioneer Award (2019), Presidential Volunteer Service Bronze Award (2018), "I Care Award" from Cumberland County for Volunteer Service (2017), "Community Outreach Award" (2022) North Carolina A. Philip Randolph Institute, Black Business Olympics Speaker Award (2022) Black Business Expo, Nominee for Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 Canada, Federal Career Service Bronze Award (2023), Global Recognition Award (2024) for her exceptional contributions to social justice, community service, and advocacy.
