Colton Delaney is a director, writer, and producer specializing in comedy, dark comedy, dramedies, and sci-fi thrillers. With a background that bridges both technology and storytelling, Colton brings a unique perspective to filmmaking, blending sharp narrative skills with a deep understanding of human behavior and emerging technologies.
Originally studying Film/TV production management and screenwriting, Colton took an unconventional path, gaining over five years of experience in Silicon Valley's tech industry. At Facebook, Apple, and Tesla, he contributed to machine learning and AI development, refining his analytical and problem-solving skills. While at Tesla, Colton returned to academia, earning a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience from San Francisco State University.
In 2022, Colton left the tech world and relocated to Southern California to fully immerse in the entertainment industry. He spent a year honing his craft through acting and improv before furthering his production expertise at UCLA Extension with a course in Pre-Production & Production for Film/TV. His industry experience includes working on commercial shoots for brands such as Toyota, SiriusXM, Oats Overnight, Larroudé, and Delta Airlines, as well as promotional shoots for Netflix's The Umbrella Academy, The Six Triple Eight, and Leanne.
Most notably, Colton created, wrote, produced, and directed the comedy series OrangeCxnty, released on February 14, 2025. Designed as a bite-sized web series, OrangeCxnty serves as a proof of concept for a fully developed TV series, highlighting Colton's distinct voice and vision in comedy storytelling.
