He comes from a family of country music entertainers: his father, Dennis McCall, is a former bassist for Charlie Louvin and Barbara Mandrell, and currently is a member of the Carol Lee Singers -- The Grand Ole Opry's backup singers. His uncle is Texas honky-tonk legend Darrell McCall. His aunt, Diane McCall, is a former singer with Charlie Louvin's band. His other aunt, Donna Digby, is a former singer with Connie Smith's band. Jarrett McCall is not a part of the country music business. He is a staunch conservative. He graduated in 2003 from Middle Tennessee State University with a Cum Laude Bachelor's degree in Radio/Television Management. He served in the United States Navy from 1996 to 1999. He writes novels, poems, plays, and films. He learned to write poetry under award-winning, Kentucky-born poet Gaylord Brewer.
