Boys' Reformatory (1939)
Plot: Tommy Ryan, a tough but good-hearted street kid, lives with the O'Meara family who have taken him in. To prevent his foster mother from being devastated by the truth, Tommy takes the blame for a burglary actually committed by his weak-willed foster brother, Eddie. Tommy is sentenced to a boys' reformatory until he is 21. There, he struggles to survive under the thumb of corrupt guards and a brutal prison doctor while trying to keep his promise that Eddie will stay out of trouble on the outside. The drama intensifies when the foster brother, Eddie, also ends up in the reformatory.
