Charlots Connection (1984)
Plot: Three unemployed friends, the comedic trio known as "Les Charlots" (Jean, Gérard, and Phil), inadvertently cause chaos at the wedding of a shady businessman, Monsieur Marcaud. Despite this, Marcaud—a racketeer—offers them a job collecting "rents" from various Parisian merchants. Thrilled to have work, the clueless Charlots accept without realizing they are actually working as henchmen for a criminal thug in the middle of a gang war. While their bumbling incompetence causes numerous hilarious disasters, they manage to complete their mission until they meet two elderly laundresses and their charming niece, Juliette, who cannot afford to pay. The Charlots' soft hearts lead them to give the women credit, which infuriates Marcaud and drags the friends even deeper into the dangerous world of organized crime and kidnappings.
