Deepwater 2005
Plot: Nat Banyon, a young drifter hitchhiking his way to Wyoming with dreams of starting an ostrich farm, gets into trouble at a truck stop. During a fight, he ends up stealing a sports car. Further down the road, he rescues the eccentric Herman Finch from an overturned vehicle. Grateful, Finch offers Nat a job as a handyman at his isolated motel. However, Nat soon discovers that Finch is the ruthless ringleader of a local crime syndicate, operating in collusion with the corrupt police. Nat becomes entangled in a dangerous game when Finch's alluring young wife, Iris, attempts to seduce him and involves him in a plot to steal Finch's ill-gotten gains. As the lines between reality and delusion blur, Nat's mental state deteriorates, and he finds himself caught in a twisted web of deceit, murder, and his own unraveling sanity, with the viewer left to question how much of the story is real and how much is his imagination.
