Cowboy and the Senorita (1944)
Plot: Roy Rogers, the King of the Cowboys, and his sidekick ride into the western town of Bonanza and quickly get caught up in a mystery involving a runaway teenager named Chip Williams. Chip has inherited a seemingly worthless gold mine, but the town's shady gambler and boss, Craig Allen, is trying to swindle her and her stepsister, Ysobel Martinez (played by Dale Evans, in her first film with Rogers), out of the property. Roy suspects the mine is far more valuable than it seems and follows a hidden clue left by Chip's late father. He must find the secret gold shaft and expose Allen's fraudulent scheme while being framed for robbery by the villain, all before the mine's ownership is legally transferred. The film is a musical western, featuring several songs and lighthearted action sequences.
