Cyborg 2: Glass Shadow (1993)
In a future ruled by rival tech corporations, a seductive and deadly cyborg named Cash (played by Angelina Jolie) is engineered to infiltrate and self-destruct inside a competitor's headquarters. But when she develops emotions and learns the truth about her purpose, she flees with her human trainer, setting off a chase that could decide the fate of the synthetic world.
Okay sooo I just watched Cyborg 2 and… what even was that?? 😂 It’s like someone mashed up 90s grunge, bad corporate dystopia, and random explosions and said “yes, this is cinema.” And honestly? I wasn’t mad about it. Young Angelina Jolie as a super-emotional cyborg named Cash?? Iconic. Her eyeliner alone deserved its own spin-off. The plot made about as much sense as a fever dream, but once I stopped trying to understand it and just vibed, it became kinda fun? Like, chaotic-in-a-good-way fun. Also, shoutout to the incredibly dramatic slow-mo scenes and overly intense villain monologues. Pure 90s gold. 💥 Would I recommend it to someone who wants a deep, philosophical sci-fi movie? No. Would I recommend it to someone who loves campy, weird, borderline ridiculous action with early Angelina Jolie being all intense and angsty? YES. 100 times yes.
