Just prior to his release from prison, Ted Evans, who served five years for killing a family in a drunk driving incident, receives a chilling threat: if he makes contact with his own family, they will be killed in retaliation for his actions. Believing this danger is real and tormented by grief and fear, Ted exiles himself to a reclusive life in a remote cabin in the woods to protect his loved ones. His wife, Sara, sets out to find him, only to discover a man broken beyond recognition, and a reality that may not be as it seems, leaving the viewer to question Ted's paranoia and what truly transpired.
