Fire with Fire (2012)
When a fireman is forced to testify against a violent criminal, he becomes the target of the criminal's wrath. Threatened by the man he is set to testify against, the fireman takes matters into his own hands, resorting to extreme measures to protect himself and his loved ones from imminent danger.
Fire with Fire is one of those films where the line between right and wrong gets super blurry, and honestly, it kind of keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. The movie follows Josh Duhamel’s character as he gets dragged into a dangerous revenge plot after witnessing a terrible crime. He’s trying to balance his sense of justice with the risk of losing everything he’s worked for. What I loved about this movie was how it dives into the mental and emotional toll that vengeance takes on people. It’s not just about the action (though there’s plenty of that)—it’s about what happens when you go too far down a dark path. Bruce Willis and Duhamel play off each other really well, and there’s a strong tension throughout that makes the stakes feel real. Is it the most groundbreaking thriller out there? Not really. But if you like revenge stories with a lot of action and a touch of moral complexity, Fire with Fire does the job.
