Ginger Snaps (2000)
Plot: Outcast teenage sisters, Ginger (16) and Brigitte (15) Fitzgerald, are obsessed with death and have a pact to either leave their bland suburban town of Bailey Downs or die together by the age of 16. On the night Ginger gets her first period, she is attacked and bitten by a strange, ferocious animal—the "Beast of Bailey Downs"—that has been killing local dogs. The bite wounds quickly heal, but Ginger begins to undergo terrifying physical and emotional changes that mirror an accelerated, horrific version of puberty: she becomes more aggressive, sexually promiscuous, and starts growing excessive hair and a tail. Realizing her sister is transforming into a werewolf, the more reserved Brigitte desperately searches for a cure with the help of a local drug dealer named Sam, all while trying to cover up the gruesome trail of destruction Ginger leaves behind, and fighting to save her sister before the final, irreversible change.
