SANITARIUM (2013)
Plot: This is a horror anthology film consisting of three distinct segments, all framed by the central figure of Dr. Stenson (Malcolm McDowell), the head psychiatrist at a mysterious mental institution. The film explores the warped and chilling backstories of three newly-arrived patients:
Figuratively Speaking: An eccentric folk artist named Gustav descends into madness, believing that the unsettling dolls he creates are speaking to him and ordering him to commit murder.
Monsters are Real: An abused young boy named Steven copes with his traumatic home life by retreating into his mind, where he is stalked by a monstrous, hallucinatory figure.
Up to the Last Man: A college professor named James Silo becomes dangerously obsessed with a doomsday prophecy, draining his family's finances to build an elaborate underground bunker, which drives him to insanity and violence.
