Shoot to Kill
Year: 1947
Plot: The film, a B-movie film noir, begins with the crash of a police-pursued car that leaves a corrupt assistant district attorney, Lawrence Dale, and a former gangster, "Dixie" Logan, dead, with Logan's wife, Marian, critically injured. The story then unfolds in a flashback format as an investigative reporter, George "Mitch" Mitchell, pieces together the events that led to the crash from Marian's hospital bedside. It is revealed that the corrupt DA framed the former gangster, Dixie Logan, and Marian married the DA to gather proof of his dishonesty. She is aided by Mitchell as she tries to clear her true husband's name and expose the DA's links to the underworld.
