The Balloonatic (1923)
Plot: A hapless young man (Buster Keaton) is an attendant at an amusement park. After a series of mishaps, he climbs atop a large hot air balloon to fix a pennant just as the balloon accidentally breaks free from its moorings and takes flight, stranding him as the solo, unintentional passenger. After a dizzying journey, the balloon crashes in a remote wilderness area. There, he encounters a young outdoorswoman who is camping and fishing. Despite his profound ineptitude at survival skills—leading to hilarious gags involving tent-pitching, wood-chopping, and a close encounter with a bear—he and the woman fall for each other. The remains of the balloon later prove useful in saving them from going over a waterfall while in a canoe.
